How To Cleanse Your Gemstones

How To Cleanse Your Gemstones

One of the most common questions we get from customers is how to cleanse their crystals. While we offer free cleansing in our stores and pop-ups, you may still do the cleansing yourself in the comforts of your home. Here are ways to cleanse your gemstones:

Singing Bowl

The most popular method of cleansing crystals. This method uses a bowl (made of metal or stone) and a wooden stick.

First, you tap the bowl with the stick. And then slide the stick on the outside of the bowl using continuous circular motion to produce the vibrating, “singing” sound. The vibrations made by the bowl cleanses the stones off of negative energy.

Running Water

Water is said to neutralize any negative energy stored inside the stone and return it back to the earth, according to Healthline. Of course, natural running water like a freshwater stream is best, but you can also rinse your gemstone under a faucet.

Place each stone under running water for one minute, and that’s it! Please note that this method is applicable to hard crystals like Quartz only, and should not be used on brittle crystals like Selenite, Kyanite, Calcite, etc.

Selenite

An energy cleansing stone, Selenite also comes in sticks, slabs, and bowls.

Just put the gemstones you want to cleanse on the Selenite for a few hours (best if overnight), and let Selenite do the trick.

Sunlight

Place your gemstones under the sun for 3-4 hours to soak up the sunlight. But be careful, as some stones like Rose Quartz and Amethyst tend to fade in color when exposed to the sun a lot.

Moonlight

Bathe your crystals with moonlight by placing them by the window or outside on your balcony or garden overnight. The moon’s natural light will cleanse and energize them. This is best done during Full Moon.
